George Forester
(1933 - 2015)
With heavy hearts we want to let you all know that one of our founders, George Forester, passed away unexpectedly in October. George was an inspirational teacher, inventive entrepreneurial engineer, seeker of knowledge, a curious soul, and the younger son of our first and most popular author, C.S. Forester. He was instrumental in the nuts and bolts of creating eNet Press and tireless in his efforts to constantly improve and expand the products and services we offer.
Growing up in the West, George spent most of his long life outdoors in California and Oregon camping, hiking, birding and boating of all kinds. He chose always to live near the water, settling finally in Lake Oswego, Oregon where he was an active contributor to his community.
George loved learning, working, and teaching. He pursued his studies at Cornell, Reed College, and Chico State and began his varied career as a math and science teacher. Later in life, he was primarily an inventor and entrepreneur involved in many different projects including mushroom harvesting, keyboard technology, game development, and ebook publishing. George remained a lifelong inspirational educator.
Friends and family will miss George for his boisterous voice, optimism, zest for life, creativity, continuous ideas, intriguing stories, and love of family. We will remember him most, sailing in the early morning and communing with his birds at sunset. He is sorely missed.
George is survived by his wife, Rosemary; his children John-Scott (Lisa), David, Adrienne, Sarah, Shelagh (Dave), and Tesilya (Andy); his brother John; and his grand-children Wren, Christopher, Sophia, Kevin, and Brittany.
I’d rather be in trouble for having done something than for not having done anything.
